about us
Our History
Mukono Intergrated Schools was founded in April 2002 with the mission of bridging the then existing gap where learners/students with dyslexia & other language related challenges where least known on the educational landscape at all levels i.e pre-primary, primary, secondary & tertiary. With roots in a 1999 pilot project led by Dr. Eria Paul Njuki, we emerged from a commitment to supporting students who were at high risk of dropping out of school due to a lack of supportive environments to a great extent, MIS is an innovative demonstration hub that ensures access & smooth transition for students with dyslexia and other related learning challenges.
Meet Our Expert
In addition to his dyslexia expertise, Dr. Njuki has completed specialized courses on assessment and support for learners with autism. He has over 25 years of teaching experience at Kyambogo University and is a certified pediatric qigong massage therapist, trained in using qigong massage as a treatment for autism.
Currently, Dr. Njuki serves as the director at Mukono Integrated Schools and works as an independent consultant in disability diagnosis and inclusion. He is also the CEO of SQUAMI, a local NGO dedicated to quality education and support for disabilities. Having attended key dyslexia conferences globally, Dr. Njuki’s deep expertise in disability diagnosis and intervention is a key instrument in over seeing the education and transitioning of students with special needs.
